A Personal Journey to Natural Solutions

The newVital was born from necessity, not opportunity. Founded by siblings Katrina McClelland and Sheldon Kerr, our story begins with a shared frustration that millions around the world can relate to—hair loss that seemed unstoppable, and treatments that came with unwanted compromises.

 

Our Founding Story

After more than a decade in the beauty industry, Katrina began noticing changes in her hair—less volume, slower growth, and a noticeable lack of shine. Meanwhile, her brother Sheldon was facing his own hair concerns. Like many men experiencing hair loss, he turned to Minoxidil, the pharmaceutical gold standard.

Initially, Minoxidil showed promise. But the side effects soon became apparent, with persistent scalp irritation, redness, and uncomfortable dryness. Even more concerning were the potential long-term risks that didn't align with Sheldon's desire for a healthier lifestyle. 

That's when we discovered something remarkable. Scientific research revealed that rosemary oil performed just as effectively as 2% Minoxidil in clinical trials—but without the adverse reactions. A study published in Skinmed demonstrated that after six months, both treatments showed identical results in hair growth, but rosemary oil users reported significantly less scalp irritation.

We realised we didn't have to choose between effectiveness and wellbeing. There was a third option—one that nature had been providing all along.
