Scientifically Proven: Behind the Formulation of The newVital

With Rosemary & NZ Harakeke Oil
Backed by nature, supported by science.

We created The newVital with a simple goal: develop a natural, effective formula that supports healthy hair and eyebrow growth using ingredients rooted in both traditional plant wisdom and modern research, grown in NZ Nature where possible.

Why Rosemary?

Rosemary oil has become one of the most well-studied natural options for supporting hair growth. Its efficacy comes down to a few key compounds—1,8-cineole and rosmarinic acid—which have been shown to:

Stimulate blood flow to the scalp, delivering oxygen and essential nutrients to hair follicles

Reduce inflammation, which can interfere with the hair growth cycle

Provide antioxidant support, protecting follicles from oxidative stress and damage

One of the most cited studies on rosemary oil was published in SKINmed Journal in 2015. Researchers compared rosemary oil to 2% minoxidil (a common pharmaceutical hair growth treatment). After six months, both groups showed significant hair regrowth, but the rosemary oil group reported fewer side effects like itching and scalp irritation.

“Rosemary oil is as effective as minoxidil 2% in the treatment of androgenetic alopecia.”
SKINmed Journal, 2015

Why Harakeke Oil?

New Zealand’s own Harakeke (native flax) is more than a cultural icon—it’s rich in linoleic acid, phytosterols, and omega fatty acids that help:

Calm inflammation and soothe irritated scalps

Balance oil production, especially helpful for dry or flaky skin

Lock in hydration, without clogging follicles

Harakeke is a gentle carrier oil that delivers actives like rosemary more efficiently to the skin and scalp, while also providing its own calming benefits.

Other Active Ingredients, Selected with Purpose:

Castor Oil – rich in ricinoleic acid, supports circulation and acts as a natural humectant

Jojoba Oil – mimics the scalp’s natural sebum, perfect for moisture balance

Lavender & Cedarwood Oils – studied for their relaxing scent and potential to support hair follicle strength

Eucalyptus – refreshing and antimicrobial, helps maintain scalp health

What This Means for You

We didn’t invent new science—we leaned into what’s already been studied and shown to work. Every ingredient in The newVital was selected not just because it sounds good, but because it’s supported by data, traditional use, or both.

This formula is free from synthetic fillers, parabens, and silicones, and made to gently support your body’s natural hair cycle. Whether you're applying it to your scalp or brows, it’s a nourishing, evidence-informed way to bring your hair back to life—naturally.
